The John Martinson Honors Program a variety of traditional and experiential academic courses that extend beyond disciplinary boundaries and classroom walls. Taught by world-class faculty, Honors courses are crafted to take a unique approach to a topic or question, often blending diverse bodies of knowledge and perspectives, and delivered in an engaging, interactive style.

Honors Discovery
Honors Discovery (HONR 1102) is our introductory course taken by all Honors students during their first semester in the program. Students begin learning the skills to make an impact on their community and are introduced to Honors opportunities.

Departmental Courses
Honors Departmental Courses enable students to delve more deeply into an area of study, while facilitating their completion of both a Major / Minor degree and Honors requirements.

Inside the Honors Studio
Inside the Honors Studio courses are innovative, experiential short-courses that provide students with an opportunity to work closely with Honors faculty.

First-Year Inquiry
Honors First-Year Inquiry (HONR 1310) courses feature a variety of intriguing courses in which first-year Honors students explore issues and engage in experiential learning with a small group of their peers and a talented faculty member.

Interdisciplinary Seminar
Honors Interdisciplinary Seminars are unique courses that enable upperclass Honors students to explore diverse contemporary issues through an interdisciplinary lens.

Project Opportunities
Honors students interested in project-based learning can connect with faculty and get involved in creative and research projects during their studies.
