Honors Faculty are at the heart of all Honors initiatives, and have freedom to design, propose, and teach their own opportunities.


Teaching in Honors

There are many ways faculty can collaborate with Honors, from teaching unique interdisciplinary courses in your area of expertise, mentoring undergraduate students’ self-designed projects, or leading your own Dialogue of Civilization.

Explore Honors Engagement Opportunities

Faculty in the John Martinson Honors Program have the opportunity to engage with our undergraduate student community through a variety of exclusive experiential learning pathways.

First-Year Inquiry

Honors First-Year Inquiries are small, custom designed seminars that introduce first year students how to explore unique topics through an analytical, interdisciplinary lens.

Inside the Honors Studio

Honors Studios are small, short-term courses that are taught in a highly experiential manner. Studios are great for faculty looking to pilot ideas for future Honors courses.

Honors Directed Study

Honors Faculty play a key role in inspiring student research and ensuring the success of student & faculty-designed projects through mentorship and support.

Interdisciplinary Seminar

Honors Interdisciplinary Seminars are upper-level courses that allow Honors students from all colleges explore a subject both broadly and deeply through multi-faceted discussions.

Honors DOCs

Honors Faculty can designed and lead Honors Dialogues of Civilization, which are enhanced DOC experiences for students to delve & engage deeper in their global studies.

Honors Interdisciplinary Thesis

Honors Faculty can serve as mentors for an Honors Interdisciplinary Thesis, which sees a students working under at least two faculty from distinct disciplines and areas of study.
