Eva is driven by a deep commitment to address healthcare disparities, destigmatize mental illnesses, and humanize addictions. Her journey reflects a blend of academic achievement, research excellence, and dedicated community service. Volunteering with the Remote Area Medical Corps and hospitals, Eva witnessed the stark realities of healthcare inaccessibility, affecting the most vulnerable. Her roles as youth commission chair, substance abuse prevention task force member, and psychiatry clinic intern solidified her conviction to destigmatize mental illnesses.
Pursuing her dream to become a transformative physician, she completed several college courses including Harvard neuroscience and drugs and society courses and is majoring in behavioral neuroscience. Eva has extensive experience developing science-based solutions for complex real-world problems. Her translational medical research has been published in peer[1]reviewed journals, winning awards at the Regeneron international science fair. As a paid intern at Boston University, she conducted faculty-mentored research on coral thermal tolerance to address climate change. At Northeastern, she is excited to pursue research on healthcare equity or the neurobiology of mental health.
An ambassador of change for an international foundation, Eva spearheaded education and health programs for underserved students in Asia, reinforcing her commitment to a life of service. Eva has been a compassionate leader and changemaker in her school and community, chairing the diversity club, founding the current events club, and leading the annual “We Wear Red Day” to celebrate women. At Northeastern, she aims to remain a catalyst for social change. She is eager to join organizations like United Against Inequities in Disease and the Global Health Initiative, advocating tirelessly for health equity and policy reforms to resolve local and global disparities. Beyond her academic and community engagements, Eva finds creative fulfillment in drawing and writing poetry.
